Position Details:
Title: Analytical Chemist
Position Type: 9 month contract assignment with additional opportunity contingent upon performance and continued business need
Job Location: Madison Heights, MI
Shift: 1st Shift

Compensation: $25-$27/HR
Responsibilities:
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on analytical equipment
- Maintain and update analytical methods and procedures
- Work efficiently and effectively on major Henkel project teams
- Prepare quality customer reports and manage project portfolios
- Interface with customers through correspondence, presentations, and other communications
- Ensure compliance with corporate standards, including safety, housekeeping, and quality
- Maintain and update digital programs and systems (Microsoft applications, LIMS, statistical analysis tools)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry; prior laboratory experience preferred
- Previous experience in an analytical laboratory is highly desirable
- Strong wet chemistry skills, including titrations, filtration, dilution, extraction, and gravimetric determinations
- Knowledge of and experience with GC-FID; familiarity with ICP, IC, SEM/EDS, and FTIR is desirable
- Prior experience using pH meters and specific ion electrode meters
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong chemical mathematics skills
- Proficient PC skills
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills
