Can you tell me about the project and the day to day responsibilities for the contractor?
The Voice Search Engine Platform (VREX) is part of Cable’s Technology & Product (T&P) organization and serves the company with advanced NLP technologies for searching and discovering any type of content in the entertainment catalog available. This position is specially for Software testing and automating the tests for VREX integration with Sky.
The responsibilities include:
Understand the business requirements and Specifications.
Create well-structured test plan and test cases.
Estimate and prioritize the testing tasks aligning with product expectations.
Configure and maintain the test environments in the cloud.
Execute the identified tests, document and report the bugs.
Automate the tests using In-house automation framework using Java and Spring-boot.
Implement the Performance tests to load tests the software.
Identify the potential issues which users encounter by monitoring the production performance metrics dashboards.
Triage the issues reported in production.
Report the quality metrics and risks if any.
What are the top three MUST HAVE skill sets (technical) that are required?
Strong Coding experience in Java and Knowledge on Spring Boot framework.
REST API Testing experience.
Git, Jenkins and knowledge on Linux environments.
What are top three PREFERRED skill sets (technical)?
AWS products like Lambda, EC2, DynamoDB, Kinesis, S3.
Docker and Kubernetes.
Soft Skill requirements (team fit/personality requirements)
Good Communication Skills.
Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills.
Great team player and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
