Job Description:

  • We are seeking an experienced Applied UX Researcher to join our team in San Francisco, CA, working in a hybrid onsite model. In this role, you will lead end-to-end qualitative research initiatives that shape product strategy and design decisions across a diverse portfolio of B2C and B2B (advertiser-focused) products. You’ll partner closely with cross-functional teams—including Product, Design, and Engineering—to uncover actionable insights, identify user needs and pain points, and drive user-centric decision-making.
  • The ideal candidate is a self-starter with deep expertise in qualitative methods such as usability studies, diary studies, and concept testing, as well as strong analytical and storytelling skills to communicate insights effectively. This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact by guiding strategic product direction through thoughtful, ethical, and data-driven research.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform research that guides user-centric thinking and a vision/strategy that is shared with cross-functional partners.
  • Clearly communicate research findings, insights, and recommendations demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the user and business, partnering with cross-functional teams to extend the impact and visibility of the research.
  • Communicate research insights and recommendations to partners or stakeholders, addressing and anticipating challenges and questions.
  • Guide product decisions through research by analyzing, consolidating, or synthesizing what is known about user, product, service, or business needs.
  • Utilize broad and deep understanding of the business goals, product ecosystem, user trends, and industry to guide research-driven, user-centric thinking and decision-making.
  • Anticipate evolving user needs and research opportunities by evolving or adapting the research strategy for a large or complex research project or program.
  • Lead and/or execute comprehensive analysis for complex research projects or programs, such as defining and implementing qualitative or quantitative frameworks, or development and ownership of surveys that define strategic priorities for products across teams.
  • Build partnerships with cross functional stakeholders including product, design and engineering to influence the team's strategy and gain support for research-based, user-centric solutions.

Experience (Mandatory):

  • 5+ years of experience in an applied research setting, or similar.
  • Extensive experience with independently executing qualitative UX Research methods (e.g., usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, etc.).
  • Relevant product research experience with B2C and B2B (ideally advertiser) products.

Experience (Desired):

  • Proficiency in UX research methods with advertiser or other B2B user groups.

  • Proficiency in Product development lifecycle.
