—————————— Job Description ——————————

The Chemistry Department at the University of Indianapolis seeks an associate adjunct professor to provide instruction in chemistry courses.  This is a part-time, non-tenure track, 9- month faculty position with an up to 21-credit hour load requirement

This associate adjunct faculty member will be responsible for teaching a variety of 100-level courses, including Introduction to Chemistry (CHEM103), Introduction to Organic and Biochemistry (CHEM104), and the General Chemistry course sequence (CHEM150/151 and CHEM160/161) as well as the associated labs. The position will require coordination with other members of the department as there are multiple sections of these courses each semester.  The successful candidate will hold a masters or doctoral degree in chemistry (or related area) and be committed to excellence in undergraduate chemistry teaching.  The Chemistry Department has a strong history of mentoring undergraduates, so a student-centered approach is essential.  Excellent positive interpersonal skills and collaborative team skills are required, as the successful candidate will be a valuable contributing member of the 12-person department.
