Responsibilities
- Calibrate electronic test measuring equipment and signal generating equipment to meet set standards.
- Test, calibrate, adjust, and maintain electromechanical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, hydromechanical, and pressure-type measuring and indicating instruments.
- Set up calibration sequences, methods, and procedures according to detailed specifications, blueprints, drawings, and requirements.
- Disassemble, clean, repair, and replace defective parts of test equipment such as pressure gauges and tension meters.
- Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Technician Support Career Stream
- Provide technical support in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement, or product development.
- Use schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment, or systems.
- Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data using established formulae and procedures, and perform detailed mathematical calculations.
- For higher levels, may suggest and/or make improvements to optimize work processes.

Autonomy: Work as a seasoned individual contributor, under limited supervision, providing assistance and training to lower-level employees. Run minor projects, including performing tests, interpreting data, and developing reports.

Required Knowledge and Experience
- Complete and broad knowledge of operational systems, techniques, and practices typically gained through extensive experience and/or education.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.
