ApTask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Associate with a pharmaceutical company. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity located in Ames, IA.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Prepare labels and label clinical study samples
  • Assist in collection of clinical study samples or necropsy
  • Aliquot clinical study samples (serum, swab effluents, fecal samples, animal tissue samples)
  • Maintain electronic inventory of clinical study samples
  • Accurately record all laboratory activities and techniques on data capture forms and research notebooks
  • Review and contribute to protocols, planning, and execution
  • Create and prepare submissions to diagnostic and internal laboratories
  • Compile testing information from outside labs and internal labs for statistical and reporting within clinical teams
  • Support clinical teams with document scanning, manual data entry and quality control of data entry
  • Receive samples, plan, and execute processing and delivery to the appropriate lab for testing
  • Plan and create a weekly schedule from multiple lists
  • Maintain number lists with minimal transposition
  • Initiate, execute, complete, and communicate duties and related issues

Requirements:

  • A.A.S. or B.S. degree
  • Experience handling veterinary laboratory specimens
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique
  • Effective organization and time management skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Competent with Microsoft Office software

Desired skills:

  • Experience with the safe and appropriate use of BSL2 organisms
  • Strong hand-eye coordination
  • Proactive and resourceful
  • Ability to work across groups and take direction from multiple scientists
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a high level of comfort interacting with all levels of the organization
  • Maintains a constructive and positive attitude

Pay range: up to $26.78 per hour
