Deputy Care Manager/Senior Nurse

Are you a senior nurse who feels passionate about the delivery of high-quality care and best practice?

Are you resilient, highly motivated, enthusiastic, reliable, energetic, committed and flexible?

Are you looking to move into a management position but don't want to be sat behind a desk every day?

Do you feel confident in dealing effectively with team members and fellow professionals whilst being approachable and a 'team leader'?

Martha Trust Hereford is a charity providing lifelong care for people with profound and complex physical and learning disabilities (no challenging behaviour). We have two homes, Martha House and Sophie House, both situated in close proximity on the outskirts of Hereford.

Care is at the forefront of everything we do at Martha Trust! Our mission is to provide a home away from home for our residents. Our staff need to be caring, patient and kind ….and our management team support them in achieving this!

Each home has 14 residents and a high staff to resident ratio, ensuring the highest standards of care. Our home management team are registered nurses, providing a supportive environment for the whole care team.

Due to internal promotion at Sophie House, we have an exciting opportunity to lead our nursing team and assist the manager in the running of the home.

The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse with an active PIN on the NMC register and experience of working in a CQC-regulated care home setting.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Care Manager in providing clinical leadership to deliver high quality evidence-based care, in an individualised, safe and holistic way. They will contribute to all aspects of care management in the home including recruitment, induction, mentoring and training of the team; implementation of care policy and procedure; and statutory and regulatory compliance.

You will be given a high degree of autonomy, independence and authority in your personal delivery of the role, within your professional boundaries, working collaboratively as a key member of the management team.

The role is full-time on a rota basis, up to 43 hours, over 4/5 days out of 7 (with consideration to different working patterns). We are flexible in line with applicant availability and the needs of the service.

The post holder will be expected to participate in management on-call and nurse on-call for both homes.

Weekend working and flexibility are required, including occasional night shifts when on call.

The role is site-based at Sophie House, Hampton Bishop. This is NOT a working from home or hybrid role.
