We are currently seeking a Entry Level Research Associate, Mammalian Cell Culture for a prominent pharmaceutical client of ours. This position is in South San Francisco, CA. Details for the position are as follows:
 
Job Description:

  • Pay: 26.76/hr.
  • Length of Assignment: 1 year contract to start with potential for extension or conversion.
  • We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate I to support the centralized cell banking and distribution team for Research and Early Development. Our mission consists in expanding, banking, performing QC, characterizing, and distributing cell lines and advanced cell models, including organoids and iPSCs, for our research colleagues.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in culturing a variety of cell lines. Having in-depth experience with molecular and biochemical techniques is required. The candidate will be expected to frequently interact and communicate with other groups as part of a diverse and multidisciplinary team.

Required Skills:

  • BS/MS in life sciences. No PhD.
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture (any amount).
  • Aseptic/sterile technique.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of iPSC & organoid propagation, cell engineering, FACs, IF staining, automation for liquid and cell handling is highly desirable.
  • Adept with PCR, biochemical assays, DNA & RNA extraction.
  • Familiar with LIMS and proficient with database maintenance.
  • Knowledge in scaling mammalian cell lines for banking & cryopreservation.
  • Managing inventory of a biobank.
  • Performing QCs (PCR, biochemical assays & FACS).
  • DNA fingerprinting.
  • DNA and RNA extractions for baseline characterization.
