JOB DESCRIPTION
- Work on the development and validation testing of dielectric materials, structural composites, and other chemical components and coatings primarily for Generator Design Engineering and Wind Turbine Design Engineering.
- Perform mechanical and electrical testing tasks associated with large rotating equipment.
- Perform high voltage components and system level design and validation testing and significant hands-on mechanical, chemical, and electrical testing.
- This Individual will be involved in validating (through physical preparation and testing) dielectric performance characteristics required of the coatings and composite materials specifically related to Generator Applications with an emphasis on ground-wall insulation.
- The Technician will support projects that include material design and testing, component design and testing and lab scale production of system level generator components.
- The Individual would also be involved in working on components involved in various in-service quality problems, and factory dielectric failures during production of large hydrogen cooled generators.
- Physical preparation and testing of materials and components for large generator applications with strict adherence to internal processes, EHS, and external standards.

Education:
- Masters or Bachelor of Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering
