HCA / Support Worker - Community Health & Social Care

Are you an experienced Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker or Senior Carer looking for flexible bank shifts across Derbyshire? We have an exciting opportunity to join a well-established NHS community health service in a rewarding and varied Band 2/3 role.
Blissful Healthcare is currently recruiting on behalf of a leading NHS organisation in Derbyshire for Bank Community Health & Social Care Support Workers across three community sites.
What you will be doing
In this role, you will work alongside registered healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients and service users across Derbyshire. Your duties will include:
✅ Providing person-centred, compassionate care following individual care plans
✅ Supporting patients with personal care, mobility, eating and drinking
✅ Completing physiological observations (blood pressure, blood glucose, urinalysis etc.)
✅ Recognising and escalating changes in a patient's physical or mental health
✅ Administering medication tasks as directed
✅ Supporting rehabilitation and promoting independence
✅ Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team across health and social care
✅ Accurately updating patient records using IT and paper-based systems
✅ Promoting dignity, respect and the wellbeing of every service user
Shift patterns available
* 07:00 – 14:00
* 14:00 – 22:00
* 22:00 – 07:00
(Long days are not available for this role)
Locations:
You will be asked for your preferred site at the point of application:

📍 Buxton, SK17 7BR
*
📍 Ilkeston, DE7 8PF
*
📍 Staveley, S43 3LY
What we are looking for
Essential:
*
Minimum 1 year of experience in a health or social care setting
*
NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care, Care Certificate, or equivalent experience
*
GCSE Maths and English Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
*
Confident with personal care, observations and following care plans
*
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*
Willingness to travel across Derbyshire
*
Flexible and available for various shift patterns including evenings, nights and weekends
*
A compassionate, non-judgmental and person-centred approach
Desirable:
*
Experience in community, rehab, or step-down settings
*
Experience working with people with physical disabilities, learning disabilities or mental health needs
*
Familiarity with electronic patient record systems
