LICENSED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN – Full Time/ Overnights

Capital District Veterinary Referral Hospital is working to re-imagine our Veterinary Care teams by investing in our people with updated compensation, evolving our schedules to help support our care teams and our communities and building robust development paths to help our team members grow their careers. Join us in re-imagining veterinary care. Our new pay ranges are designed to support our employees professionally and personally with a goal of allowing them to build a career in the industry. This role pays between $25 – 28/ hour.

ABOUT THE JOB: As a Licensed Veterinary Technician in the Emergency and Critical Care department you will be responsible for:

Triaging incoming patients and managing clients throughout their visit
Partnering with DVM’s in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates
Utilize different modalities of imaging for patient assessment.
Executing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events

SHIFT, HOURS, & COMPENSATION:

Our technicians typically work 3, 12 hour shifts per week. However, we try to be flexible and accommodate the needs of our staff.
We ask that you are available one overnight shift per week.
Compensation is based on skills and experience but ranges from $25-28/hr.

ABOUT YOU:

Must be licensed in the state of New York. New Graduates are welcome to apply.
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills that enable them to develop and foster long term positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community.
Work well independently and in a team environment where colleagues lead by example and hold themselves accountable for quality medicine and customer service.
Strong computer skills to work with a paperless information system.
Flexible, cooperative, dependable, responsible, and good time-management skills to work in a fast-paced environment where you can utilize high level skills and be an integral part of the medical team.

Compensation is based on experience and skill level. 15% Shift differential for hours worked from 12am to 7am
Holidays paid Double Time
