PGS Worldwide is seeking a Portable Metrology Engineer in York, PA for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role focuses on precision measurement and inspection using advanced metrology equipment to support manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams.
Required Skills
- Experience with portable metrology equipment (Portable CMM, Laser Tracker, High Volume Scanners such as Surphaser)
- Experience using PolyWorks software
- Intermediate knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Ability to generate detailed inspection and dimensional reports
- Strong understanding of inspection processes and quality standards
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a defense or aerospace environment
- Knowledge of mechanical design and assembly processes
- Experience with CAD tools such as PTC Creo or SolidWorks
- Familiarity with military or commercial design standards
What You'll Do
- Perform precision inspections using laser trackers, Faro arms, and scanning equipment
- Generate detailed dimensional and inspection reports for engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
- Support new design integration by conducting inspection and validation activities
- Perform inspections for design changes and production updates
- Collaborate with engineering, program management, and quality teams to resolve product issues
- Develop and deliver inspection plans and reporting structures
- Analyze inspection data and support corrective/preventative action planning
- Communicate quality data and results to internal and external stakeholders

- Fully onsite in York, PA
