The Space Components Division is seeking a Metrology Engineering Technician Lead join our team. This position could be located in San Diego, CA

JOB Responsibilities

Support internal and external customers’ needs.

Identify, troubleshoot and solve tooling problems and provide assistance to manufacturing, inspection and engineering issues.

Analyze data and provide reports in a variety of customers’ format.

Metrology support: tooling/production/inspection.

Tooling: setup per tool drawing or cad model

Production: setup shop aids, align flight hardware per customer’s drawings or CAD model

Inspection: support inspections needs for in-process and End Item Data Pack deliverables

Basic Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience.

General knowledge with spatial analyzer software or similar software

General knowledge and experience using CAD software

Experience with MS Excel

Ability to read drawings/blue prints and interpret GD&T

Availability to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Must be able to work on feet for extended periods of time.

Ability to manipulate equipment weighting up to 50 pounds

Ability to climb ladders, crawl, and sometimes access challenging locations

Familiarity with working around delicate spacecraft hardware an advantage

Preferred qualifications

Certification in engineering or metrology disciplines

Some college preferred

Salary Range: $70,700 USD – $117,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
