Salary: £50,000-£80,000 basic (based on experience) + benefits

Working Pattern: Hybrid with rotational shift cover

We are supporting a global medical assistance and risk management organisation with the appointment of a Nurse Manager to join their international medical assistance team.

This is not a traditional hospital-based Nurse Manager position. The role is focused on international medical case management, clinical decision support, medical report writing, escalation handling and supporting complex assistance cases for clients located around the world. Cases can range from non-urgent outpatient reviews through to urgent medical escalations, evacuations and repatriations.

The successful candidate will use their clinical judgement, communication skills and leadership experience to review medical information, assess case priorities, liaise with healthcare professionals internationally and support the wider team in delivering safe, timely and well-informed medical assistance.

The Role

As Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for supporting and managing medical assistance cases across an international client base. You will review medical updates, provide clinical insight, guide case handling decisions and ensure clear, accurate documentation is produced for internal and external stakeholders.

You will work closely with medical, operational and clinical support teams, helping to prioritise cases, escalate concerns where required and support decision-making around patient care, travel, evacuation and repatriation.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage day-to-day international medical assistance cases, ensuring timely clinical review and appropriate escalation

* Contact hospitals, clinics, treating physicians and other healthcare professionals internationally to obtain medical updates

* Provide guidance and support to the wider team on medical case handling and prioritisation

* Conduct telephonic patient assessments where required

* Liaise closely with operations, medical and clinical support colleagues to ensure effective communication and case progression

* Help ensure cases are managed professionally, efficiently and in line with internal standards and medical procedures

About You

This role would suit a registered nurse with strong clinical judgement, excellent written communication skills and the confidence to support complex medical cases in a fast-paced international environment.

You may come from a critical care, emergency, acute, travel health, assistance, private healthcare, occupational health or international medical support background. Previous experience in a non-hospital medical assistance, insurance, repatriation or case management environment would be highly relevant, but is not essential if your clinical background and communication skills are strong.

Essential Requirements

* Qualified and registered Nurse

* Minimum 3 years’ clinical nursing experience, ideally in critical care, acute care, emergency care or another relevant setting

* Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills

* Excellent medical report writing skills

* Confident reviewing medical information and identifying key clinical risks

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Ability to manage and prioritise a varied caseload

* Calm, organised and confident when dealing with urgent or complex medical situations

* Able to work collaboratively with medical, operational and support teams

* Comfortable liaising with healthcare professionals across different countries and healthcare systems

* Previous leadership, mentoring or senior clinical experience would be highly advantageous

* Desirable Skills

* Experience in medical assistance, travel risk, insurance, evacuation, repatriation or international case management

* Experience supporting remote clinical decision-making or telephonic patient assessments

Why Apply?
