CORE Veterinary Surgical Clinic is a leading provider of specialized surgical care for pets in Plainville, MA. We are seeking a friendly and professional Office Manager/Lead Surgical Technician to join our team.
Position Overview: We are looking for a licensed Veterinary Technician with a minimum of 1 year of experience, or a non-licensed candidate with at least 2 years of experience, to provide exceptional care and support to our surgical team. The successful candidate will serve as the Office Manager and Lead Surgical Technician, playing a crucial role in assisting our veterinary surgeons, ensuring the safety and comfort of our patients, and overseeing clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist veterinary surgeons during surgical procedures, including preparation of surgical equipment, monitoring anesthesia, and providing surgical assistance as needed.
Perform pre-operative and post-operative care for surgical patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and providing comfort measures.
Perform diagnostic tests such as blood work, radiographs, and ultrasound under the direction of veterinarians.
Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately during examinations and procedures.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care.
Provide client education on post-operative care instructions and answer any questions or concerns.
Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain a clean and organized surgical suite.
Oversee daily clinic operations and supervise support staff.
Handle administrative tasks related to office management.
Requirements
Licensed Veterinary Technician with a minimum of 1 year of experience, or a non-licensed candidate with at least 2 years of experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital.
Must be highly experienced in referral surgical settings.
CVT (Certified Veterinary Technician) preferred.
Adept in PIMS (Practice Information Management Systems).
Experience dealing with vendors preferred.
Knowledge of surgical procedures and anesthesia protocols.
Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to travel between two locations: Maynard and Plainville.
Leadership experience and ability to supervise and manage staff.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills to handle both clinical and administrative responsibilities.
