Responsibilities:

The successful Oncology Clinical Trials Research Assistant will be highly flexible, able to undertake a number of tasks on a number of different projects simultaneously and will take the initiative to become familiar with all aspects of assigned programs. The Oncology Clinical Trials Research Assistant, under the supervision of the Clinical Trials Program Coordinator will provide research and administrative support for the Oncology Clinical Trials programs. The Research Assistant will work to strengthen the Cancer Institute’s program.

 

  • Provide research and administrative support for oncology patients throughout the Bassett Healthcare Network
  • Schedules activities in support of the Oncology Clinical Trials Program
  • Assists with contacting appropriate collaborators in order to institute and organize program related meetings and events
  • Assists with the development, promotion and dissemination of research materials/products
  • Assists with program subject recruitment and enrollment
  • Organize and maintain program-related documents, databases, and resources
  • Completes and manages appropriate data in a timely and efficient manner as required by internal and external regulatory and funding agencies
  • Assure appropriate data file creation, data maintenance and data analysis as needed
  • Maintain the Oncology Clinical Trials Research program’s regulatory documentation
  • Maintain records and submit items within required deadlines
  • Assist in regulatory document completion with outside pharmaceutical sponsors
  • Responsibilities for Relationships
  • Serves as the contact person for internal and external customers for the Oncology Clinical Trials program
  • Maintains good working relationships with other departments to support the work
  • Maintains good working relationships with members of the Cancer Institute
  • Information Responsibilities
  • Attends all required meetings and creates minutes for distribution to recommended staff
  • Performs similar or related duties as requested or directed

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School or GED, preferred
  • 2 Year/Associates Degree, preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years experience working in a healthcare environment, required
  • Minimum 1 year oncology specific experience, preferred
    • Experience may be substituted for the 2 year requirement

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Essential to complete all Bassett Healthcare Institutional Review Board requirements during the first 3 months of employment, required

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking or standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met
  • Occasional kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing
  • Frequent typing/clerical/dexterity, hearing, repetitive motion, seeing/monitor/computer use, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception)

Hazards:

  • Occasional bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure

Travel:

  • Occasional Travel – The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. Min:
USD $19.50/Hr.

Max:
USD $29.26/Hr.
