The Schiffer Group at Fred Hutch is seeking a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to work on within host mathematical and evolutionary modeling to understand HIV persistence and cure.

This a hybrid role and candidates need to be on-sirte three days a week.
Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will develop mathematical models that focus on optimizing treatments for various viruses including but not limited to SARS-CoV-2, HSV-2 and HIV-1. Post docs will be encouraged and given opportunities to collaborate with laboratory-based scientists (including biology and immunology), both in the Vaccine and Infectious Diseases Division (VIDD) at Fred Hutch, and externally.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- PhD degree from a quantitative field such as physics, applied mathematics, engineering, population genetics, ecology, computational biology etc.
- Strong numerical programming skills in Python, Matlab and/or R.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Differential equation-based models and/or agent based modeling.
The annual base salary range for this position is from $77,976 to $95,014, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
