Job Title: Application Development – Quality Assurance Analyst (SDET, Automated, Java, Python) IV (Contractor)
Contractor Work Location: PAP35 – PA – Philadelphia, 1800 Arch St

NOTE: Development and Testing of new X1/Flex/Xumo TV/Streaming box Software, including DevOps operational readiness and reliability engineering focus.

Role Overview:

• Net new SDET Level 4 role.
• Focused on automation testing, not manual QA.
• Supports Client's on-device commerce applications, including:
  • Unified Checkout
  • Subscription Management
• Platforms include:
  • Flex
  • Xumo Stream Boxes
  • Xumo TVs
  • X1
  • Other Client hardware devices

Team & Project:

• Team is shifting toward a cross-functional model.
• Current testing is heavily manual; goal is to reach ~80% automation coverage by mid-year.
• Contractor will work closely with senior engineers to:
  • Expand automation test coverage
  • Drive automation strategy and execution
• Only one tester being added; multiple engineers joining strong need for efficiency and automation expertise.

Required & Preferred Skills:
Mandatory:

• Cypress automation testing (hands-on experience required)
• JavaScript (strong proficiency)
• Automation testing experience (integration suite coverage)
• Self-starter mentality; ability to take initiative and ownership

Preferred / Nice-to-Have:

• Software development background
• Lightning JS experience (not required, but beneficial)
• Python (helpful, not required)

Not a Fit / Disqualifiers:

• Entry-level or very green candidates
• Manual-only testers
• Candidates without Cypress experience
• Lack of initiative or inability to work independently

Experience Level:

• Targeting ~5 years total engineering experience
• Candidates may have:
  • Started in software development and moved into SDET
  • Less than 5 years specifically in SDET, but still 5 overall engineering experience

Location & Work Model :

• Philadelphia office
• Contractors expected 2 3 days onsite per week
• Not a strict 4-day onsite requirement
• Collaboration-focused presence preferred

Timeline:

• Looking to fill the role as soon as possible in the new year

Final Notes:

• Role is QA-focused with heavy emphasis on automation
• Minimal to no manual testing
• Strong opportunity for candidates with Cypress JavaScript who can hit the ground running
