Our OSI Electronics division is a diversified manufacturer of electronic devices and value-added manufacturing services for use in a broad range of applications, including aerospace and defense electronics, security and inspection systems, and medical monitoring and diagnostics. OSI Electronics is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team. This individual is responsible for setting and managing the quality and reliability standards for OSI Optoelectronics optical sensors and photonic devices. Quality and reliability expert with a track record of improving the quality of semiconductor components during New Product Introduction (NPI) as well as maintaining it throughout the life cycle. This position requires working together with both Wafer Engineering and Product Engineering to sustain productivity, quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities:
Establish the quality & reliability for optical sensors, photonic devices and silicon chips.

Provides quality customer interface and expertise to proactively assure requirements are understood and satisfied, including assisting in complaint resolution and root cause and corrective action determination.

Supports the Supply Chain Management organization relative to the collection and analysis of supplier quality data providing expertise and assists suppliers with product and process quality requirements.

Executes the development, implementation, and improvement of the appropriate Quality Management Systems throughout the operation, providing advanced quality planning support in the development and launch of new products, processes and services.

Participates in the auditing of internal Quality Systems and completes part approval documentation to assure that customer requirements are met in new or modified products and processes.

Analyzes organizational quality metrics and performs periodic reviews to evaluate results and recommendation action plans to close gaps in the supply chain.

Develops and analyzes statistical data and product/process performance to recommend and implement improvements in targeted areas.

Contributes in the design and implementation of quality assurance training programs and conducts training in quality-related topics.

Participates in product development and launches activities including identification of customer expectations, manufacturing and test support, reliability analysis, design reviews, evaluation of test programs, material handling.

Provides support in the way of development and evaluation of process capability, process control plans, analysis of out-of-control conditions and process audits.

Develops, implements, and audits inspection and test plans, standards and acceptance criteria, and procedures/work instructions.

Investigates and eliminates causes of quality problems and follows up on corrective actions.

Performs First Articles per the AS9102 standard.

It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.

Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required. Years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

5+ years of work experience in Printed Circuit Board Manufacturing required.

An understanding of AS9100D and ISO13485:2016 standards is essential.

Ability to troubleshoot issues for components, materials, tools, programs, equipment, and Electrical Test.

Knowledge of all relevant industry certifications (such as IPC-610 or J-STD).

Able to lift 25lbs.

Good understanding of electronics and processing.

Strong problem-solving skills and solid understanding of statistical process control (SPC)and data analysis techniques, and design of experiments (DOE).

Understanding NADCAP Special Processes and PPAP process.

5% travel may be required.
