Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) development process for assigned programs. This role involves driving continuous improvement initiatives, refining business processes, and ensuring high-quality engineering and manufacturing standards. The position requires collaboration across multiple teams to optimize product development and production.
Essential Functions
Lead APQP development, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Control Plans.
Oversee quality assurance aspects of new product introduction.
Develop and validate test methods and procedures.
Ensure compliance with customer and internal quality requirements.
Conduct quality control inspections at various production stages.
Work with suppliers on Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions.
Implement process improvement initiatives and document new quality processes.
Support manufacturing activities at partner and supplier facilities.
Ensure adherence to company safety and environmental policies.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of AS9100D/IATF16949/ISO9001 standards.
Expertise in APQP and AS9145.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
Experience using root cause analysis tools (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa).
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Familiarity with U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) processes.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
High school diploma with at least 10 years of relevant experience may be considered.
Experience
5+ years of manufacturing experience.
5+ years of leadership, supervisory, or managerial experience.
Experience in a highly regulated industry and a multinational environment.
Background Prerequisites
Must meet company standards for background check, employment verification, and substance testing.
Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance if required.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Travel up to 10%, including occasional international travel.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
