Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Data Associate.
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Research Data Associate to join our dynamic team for
a multi-site clinical trial treating sleep apnea in the elderly. He/She will play a critical role in assisting
with the successful implementation, coordination, and oversight of research activities at NYU and
coordinate with other sites involved in the study. The Research Data Associate will facilitate efficient
communication, collaboration, and data management, ensuring adherence to study protocols and
timelines.
Job Responsibilities:
Study Coordination
Collaborate with principal investigators, research teams, and site coordinators to ensure smooth
implementation of the study protocol.
Coordinate and assist with day-to-day research activities, including participant recruitment,
scheduling, and data collection.
Monitor progress and performance, addressing any issues or challenges that may arise and
bringing them to the attention of the PI.
Facilitate regular meetings and communication channels among research staff at different sites
to ensure consistency and collaboration.
Assist with developing and maintaining comprehensive study documentation, including
protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and data management plans.
Ethics and Regulatory Compliance
Assist with the preparation and submission of study-related documents, such as Institutional
Review Board (IRB) applications, informed consent forms, and study amendments.
Ensure compliance with relevant ethical guidelines, data protection regulations, and
institutional policies across all study sites.
Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices for multi-site research
studies, and provide guidance to the research team accordingly.
Data Management and Quality Control
Assist with data collection, entry, and quality control processes at each study site.
Assist with development and implementation of standardized data collection procedures and
data management systems across all sites.
Conduct regular data audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to data
management protocols.
Collaborate with the data management team to ensure data integration, harmonization, and
security across multiple sites.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have an Associate’s degree plus one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer literate with good interpersonal, writing and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in science, public health, health education or a related field. Prior experience in a health care settings and/or research level interviews
Prior patient education experience
Fluency in Spanish
Previous experience in coordinating research studies is preferred.
Familiarity with research ethics, IRB processes, and regulatory requirements preferred.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $45,600.00 – $49,091.90 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
