Veterinary Surgeon

Veterinarian – Full Time or Part Time. Lilydale, VIC. Where career meets community, in the heart of the Yarra Valley. $110k – $125k per annum

Are you an ambitious vet, stuck in a corporate job, thinking is this it? How about a career in a friendly, non-corporate clinic, surrounded by rolling vineyards, mountain trails, and some of Victoria’s most stunning scenery, all just an hour from Melbourne?

Welcome to Lilydale, the gateway to the Yarra Valley, and they’re ready to welcome a veterinarian who wants to be part of something long-term, supportive, and genuinely rewarding.

Independence isn’t just a word; it’s a way of working for this clinic. Without the pressures of a corporate structure, they can focus entirely on what matters most: delivering excellent care for their patients, building lasting relationships with clients, and supporting their team.

A small clinic, but super well-equipped. Think boutique: big enough to have the toys but small enough that they’ll know every client by name.

From surgeries to diagnostics, they have the tools and the experience to work cases up properly and provide the standard of medicine they’d want for their own pets.

Open Monday–Friday 8am–7pm and Saturdays until 2pm, with weekend shifts shared on a roster. Crucially, there are no after-hours or night shifts; emergencies transfer smoothly to a trusted 24/7 referral hospital.

Who they are hoping to meet

They would love to hear from an experienced all-rounder with 2–3+ years in small animal practice, but if you’re a confident vet still developing your skills, they'd be just as keen to chat.

What matters most to them

* You are comfortable with routine surgeries like bitch spays, dentals, and lumpectomies.

* Bring enthusiasm and initiative to your work and still get a buzz from solving cases.

* Enjoy collaborating, learning, and contributing to a positive team culture.

* A great communicator.

They’re especially looking for someone who’s committed to the long term. While they have valued the energy of working holiday vets, they are ready to welcome a team member who can grow with them.

What they offer

* A genuinely kind, collaborative workplace where colleagues feel more like friends.

* A workplace where laughter and learning happen daily.

* Lovely clients who value and respect the work you do.

* Full Time or Part Time, you choose. No after-hours or overnight stress.

* A culture that embraces curiosity and innovation, from AI software to nutrition and emerging therapies.

* The lifestyle benefits of Lilydale and the Yarra Valley: vineyards, hiking trails, fresh air, and only an hour from Melbourne.

Here, you don’t have to choose between career growth and lifestyle; you can have both, with a team that values you as much as the clients do.

So, what’s next?

Send your CV, don’t worry if it’s not up to date. We can’t get the whole story in a job ad so ask any questions. I’ll answer honestly, no hard sell.

Grow your skills, love your life, at this supportive, close-knit practice in the Yarra Valley
