Veterinary Surgeon

Veterinary Surgeon – Mixed Practice, Maffra, Australia. $100k – $140k per annum

Are you a vet who loves variety, the great outdoors, and being part of a team where your contribution truly matters?

If you're an ambitious vet who's always dreamed of practising overseas, this could be the fresh start you've been looking for.

Why Australia?
From stunning beaches and rugged mountains to an unbeatable outdoor lifestyle and the famously laid-back Aussie attitude, Australia has it all.

If you're ready for a new adventure 10,000 miles from home, keep reading, your next chapter could start here.

Our client is looking for a full-time veterinary surgeon to join their friendly mixed practice in one of Australia’s most stunning regions.

This is a full-time position in a true mixed practice, small animals, large animals, and equine offering great variety everyday.

The on-call rota is shared, but we won’t expect you to jump in straight away; you’ll have time to settle in, get to know the team, and find your feet before taking on out-of-hours responsibilities.

You’ll be working in a purpose-built clinic equipped with everything you need: two consult rooms, dedicated dog and cat waiting areas, a large prep/treatment space, sterile surgery, dental room, separate wards for dogs and cats, a recovery area, and even an in-house grooming room.

They’ve got all the toys too, x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab equipment, and a separate equine clinic just five minutes away.

This is a practice where everyone pulls together when there’s work to be done, but values time outside work. A strong team that wants the best for clients and colleagues. Everyone has a voice, they share opinions, thoughts, case studies, and hold discussions.

Salary is between $100K–$140K AUD, depending on experience, plus additional pay for out-of-hours work. They can also provide a car for use if needed.

They are located in a beautiful part of the country, close to the beach, lakes, and a string of national parks, ideal for hiking, camping, and wildlife spotting. Prefer snow to surf? The mountains aren’t far either, so skiing is also on the cards.

Australia offers an amazing lifestyle: sunshine, space, work-life balance, and the kind of natural beauty that never gets old. If you’re considering a move abroad, this is your chance to blend professional growth with a laid-back, outdoorsy lifestyle.

But the real gem? Their team. They genuinely enjoy working together. Supportive, down-to-earth, and always up for a laugh. It’s the people who make the clinic a great place to come to work every day.

So, what’s next?

Send your CV, don’t worry if it’s not up to date. We can’t get the whole story in a job ad, so ask any questions. I’ll answer honestly, no hard sell.

Enjoy being a vet again on the other side of the world
