The Impact Youll Make in this Role As an Advanced Analytical Chemist-Elemental Analysis Focus in 3M Corporate Research Analytical Laboratory (CRAL) , you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: – Providing analytical chemistry measurements for 3M corporate research laboratories and divisions – Characterizing 3M materials and products using elemental analysis technology (e.g. ICP, XRF) – Preparing samples, conducting analytical testing, documenting test methods and results – Partnering with other researchers in 3M corporate analytical research laboratory and greater 3M technical community on analytical technology and product development projects For additional information, please visit: Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: – Bachelors degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution – Combined experience with Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP)-Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (AES), ICP-Mass Spectroscopy (MS) and/or X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) experiments in a private, public, government or military environment Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: – Bachelors degree or higher in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Physics or related field discipline from an accredited institution – Two (2) years of combined experience with Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP)-Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (AES), ICP-Mass Spectroscopy (MS) and/or X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) experiments in a private, public, government or military environment – Experience with sample preparation methods for ICP-AES, ICP-MS, and/or XRF analysis – Strong problem-solving, communication, and networking skills Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international Relocation Assistance: May be authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
