Job_Description We are looking for a results-driven and passionate Analytical Scientist within our Corporate Analytical Laboratory team. This person will join a high- performing team within the Research & Development division. This person will be empowered to own their work and work alongside fellow scientists to achieve high quality results and deliver them to all stakeholders. They will share and achieve common goals with internal and external teams while building and maintaining relationships with them. How_This_Role_Contributes_To_The_Organization * Provides technical and analytical chemistry deliverables on assigned chemistry methods and processes. * Provide high quality analytical outputs, through adherence to SOPs, Methods and GLP protocols with a willingness to strive for continued improvement using sound scientific approaches to problem solving, research projects and data interpretation. * Demonstrates mastery of analytical methods, instruments, technologies and data management systems as assigned which will advance the objectives and goals of the Cooperative. * Plays a key role in supporting a customer-oriented approach to sample handling, method development, testing and results reporting. The_Ideal_Candidate_Must * Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and have demonstrated initiative and drive in working toward high quality outputs and continuous improvement. * Be able to work collaboratively with scientific and business partners to achieve positive results, changes and outcomes that meet the corporate needs. * Have a strong sense of technical curiosity and demonstrated interest in understanding the use of analytical data in a food company. Be comfortable and effective with complex decision-making. * Be comfortable with owning accountability of meeting objectives and commitments, as well as holding others accountable. * Possess good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to deliver scientific results and messages to both scientist and non-scientist cross functional team members. * Have a passion for hands-on laboratory work Qualifications * A bachelor s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science or related field (Master s preferred) * 2-5 years of experience in chemical analysis that includes hands-on instrumentation operation/maintenance as well as hand-on chemical method development * Demonstrated experience and knowledge of commonly used chemical analysis techniques, such as Chromatography (Liquid, Gas, Ion), Mass Spectroscopy, Refractometry, Titration. * Familiar and comfortable with electronic data collection and compilation applications (such as a LIMS or ELN systems) and instrument operating and data management systems (such as Agilent ChemStation or OpenLab, Sciex OS and Thermo Fisher Chromeleon) * Proficiency in Word and Excel * Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices and ability to apply Scientific Approach to problem solving and research projects * Comfortable with networking with and leveraging capabilities of external professional organizations such as AOAC or ACS * Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively with scientific and business partners.
