Your role: As AQM you will be Accountable to ensure effective product safety and product quality systems controls are in place. Supporting the Quality Manager to ensure all products placed on the market are fully compliant to customer, regulatory, industry and Ardent Mills requirements. To achieve this assuring quality awareness and a cost competitive and engaged local quality organization. Responsible as part of the core leadership team at the facility. The candidate will develop skills to prepare themselves for a Quality Manager position in 2 to 3 years. To succeed, you must be able to: – Willing and able to work with wheat products i.e. no wheat /gluten sensitivity, intolerance and/or allergies – Willing and able to work in a plant environment – Willing and able to work off shifts, weekends, and travel within short notice Above all you will be expected to carry out all your activities with reliability, integrity, compliance and in a safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient manner. Your responsibilities: – Ensure compliance to Quality/Food Safety (Q/FS) regulations/policies – accountable to ensure Quality/Food Safety (Q/FS) execution for the location; this includes, training, compliance, and verification/auditing activities. Analyzes and interprets policies, customer standards, and directs implementation of Q/FS policies at the location. – Supervise the facility sanitation ensuring that FPZ tailings are maintained in green status manage the FPZ process ensuring audit compliance in each department of the facility. Responsible for general facility housekeeping procedures. – Manage Quality programs to ensure high performance execution. Programs include FPZ / IPM Program, AMIL sampling program, equipment and instrumentation support, Master Sanitation Schedule, 5S, safety compliance Organize, prioritize and own multiple tasks while meeting or exceeding deadlines. – Customer Focus – Maintain Customer audit programs and agreed 3rd party certification. Manage customer documentation, specifications, and ensure active customer support. Build relationships with local customers to uncover opportunities that lead to value creation and strengthen ties between our companies. – Support Function – Supports the Quality Manager in their absences, as well as other functions when needed. Essential skills and experience: – High School/GED with 5 years relevant experience – 2 years leadership experience – A minimum of one year in QA/QC Management in a food-manufacturing environment – Good Manufacturing Practices – Basic HARPC Knowledge/Implementation – Applies HARPC to identify and control food safety hazards – Basic Scientific Knowledge – Applies scientific knowledge, principles to identify and manage risks – Knowledge in development and implementation of the following programs: – HACCP / HARPC – Sanitation FDA and USDA Regulatory requirements. – BRC audit requirements and guidelines. – Demonstrates effective Communication Skills – written and verbal – Demonstrates social intelligence and ability to effectively work with Diverse Groups within and outside reporting relationships Good to have: – Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biological Sciences, or related fields, or minimum of 5 years flour milling quality experience. – Statistical Process Control Physical Requirements and Working Conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation): – Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as is required by the operating areas (i.e. safety glasses, protective footwear, hearing protection and, at times, a respirator) – Ability to work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends and holidays – Ability to work a machine paced continuous process that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with conditions which include: – Heat/Cold temperatures (inclement weather) – Indoor/Outdoor environment – Dusty environment – Noisy environment – Frequent moving/vibration/ or other motion of equipment/processes – Elevated Places EEO Commitment At Ardent Mills, everyone matters and everyone has a voice.
