Job Title Assistant Scientist in Computational Hydrodynamics Job ID Location Laser Lab & COI Full/Part Time Full-Time Add to My Favorite Jobs Favorite Job Regular/Temporary Regular Opening Full Time 40 hours Grade 000 DLLE-Laboratory for Laser Energ Responsibilities Applications are invited for an assistant scientist position in code development focusing on computational hydrodynamics with application to inertial fusion and high energy density physics. The candidate will work on code development on ICF codes, including the simulation code HYDRA. This will include but not be limited to development of physics packages related to laser ray trace. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in radiation hydrodynamic modeling and inertial confinement fusion. A Ph.D. in physics or mechanical engineering or a related field is required. Evaluation of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. The position is for two years subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance. Salary and benefits are competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
