The Associate Data Scientist applies and integrates cutting-edge statistical, mathematical, predictive modeling and business analysis skills to conduct and manipulate complex high-volume data from a variety of sources. In this role you will interpret findings and make recommendations to business partners. Functions Design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms. Develop, implement, and test machine learning models. Leverage structured and unstructured datasets to implement new statistical or other mathematical methodologies as needed for specific models or data analysis (i.e., linear and nonlinear regression, clustering, etc.). Generate and test hypotheses. Analyze and interpret the results of product experiments. Design and coordinate field experiments to identify product enhancement opportunities. In partnership with other data scientists, serve in a consultative role to share and illustrate insights in support of organizational goals. Assist analysts across the organization to identify process automation opportunities and improve analysis methods. Provide ad-hoc analysis which includes the ability to combine several data sources to communicate findings with effective visualizations and reports as needed for senior/executive management. May assist in sourcing new data, building and optimizing data structures for the storage, integration, designing a prototype ETL process and seeing it through to production. Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations that apply to your position and keep up to date on regulation changes. Maintain working knowledge of our policies and procedures regarding the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations that apply to your position. Qualifications Bachelors degree in STEM field, e.g., data science, statistics, economics, financial engineering, operations research, physics, or technology required Advanced degree in STEM field, e.g., data science, statistics, economics, financial engineering, operations research, physics, or technology preferred 4-7 of experience data mining and analysis experience required, with strong understanding of statistical methods and principles Understanding of, and ability to implement, several supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms (i.e., k-NN, Nave Bayes, Logistic and Linear Regression, Random Forests, etc.) Proficiency in common data science programming languages and associated toolkits such as R, SQL, Python with NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, etc. Understanding of cloud computing concepts, and big data processing methods such as MapReduce, Spark, and parallel computing in general Excellent data visualization skills using multiple tools, such as Tableau or Power BI, Matplotlib, ggplot, and D3.js Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, ideally including an ability to transition processes from Excel to more sophisticated tools Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Work involves: Sitting Occasional walking Lifting up to 10 pounds.
