Function Overview:

The successful candidate will be accountable for the quality of components from the Fabrication, CNC, Cavity and Finishing areas of the manufacturing plant.

The successful candidate will be accountable to develop Kaizen, Quality Assurance (QA) Matrix as part of the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Methodology to improve the Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) of the responsible area.

Develop, coordinate, and maintain the Quality KPI’s for the assigned production area to ensure zero quality claims for the customer and the next process on the supply chain.
Coordinate containment, Process and Product Audits, Actions Plans, Quick Kaizen, and Major Kaizen to ensure zero quality claims for the customer and the next process on the supply chain.
Lead and manage multiple projects related to improvement using the Kaizen tool. Provide engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques and encourage the use of WCM techniques to solve problems.

Establish a Visual Factory Processes to show real-time Process and Product Capability performance to encourage CP/CPK improvements.
Determine when process stability and capability studies should be performed on existing processes. Review and analyze the results. Recommend changes to processes based upon findings and perform follow up to verify effectiveness.
Lead Kaizen projects to improve Fabrication quality.
Assist with the new products being launched(NPL).
Setup and administer the part containment process for fabrication
Setup and Administer a Manual measurement training process for all employees expected to check components with handheld gages.
Communicate information regarding quality issues to quality and manufacturing departments and other appropriate personnel.
Create and administer special testing/Quality audits/LPAs as needed or requested by quality management.
Participate in product platform team meetings or other meetings as required.
Attend training as required by quality management.
Assist in writing and approving FPP documents as required.
Keep quality informed on progress for all projects and assignments.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
1+ years of Engineering experience in Quality or Manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Strong Project Management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
Communication skills (Ability to communicate at all levels from Plant Leadership to Machine Operator)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal and team-building skills with the ability to work in a team environment
Hands-on experience working in a heavily automated production environment is desired
Able to read drawings and understand GD & T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Able to use CAD software- Creo, Autocad, Solidworks, ect.
Preferred experience with metrology methods- CMM, Romar arm, PCDIMS, Polyworks, Scanning technologies, and manual measurement methods
