Summary We are seeking a capable bioinformatics analyst to perform integrative analysis of ex vivo organoid models and in vivo models of responses to virus or microbial infection and drug or radiation treatments. The analysis will include bulk and single cell RNA transcriptomics, metabolomics and proteomics data generated by our group as well as accessing relevant publicly available datasets for comparisons. Will work on related microbiome projects and metagenomic datasets. Will include both deployment and development of state-of- the art analysis pipelines. The analyst will be responsible for deploying and utilizing data analysis pipelines written in Perl, Python and/or Bash, using Linux computer clusters with PBS and SLURM batch submission systems. Analyst will further incorporate advanced data science techniques such as deep learning and classification to identify potential disease drivers, biomarkers, and novel molecular profiles associated with disease and markers associated with mitigation of injury. Job_Duties * Deploys, adapts, runs and validates multiple omics analysis pipeline: metabolomics, proteomics, bulk and single cell RNA-Seq * Reviews existing multimodal omics signatures, publicly available datasets, propose and execute integrative analysis * Interprets results from similarity searches and integration of investigator and publicly available datasets * Ensures that multi-omics data analysis objectives are met as required by project or supervisor * Uses various computational analyses and biological interpretation of results to review existing data and propose improvements * Generates figures for presentations and publications Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Genetics, Biology, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field. * One years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications * Master’s or PhD degree in a related field and one year of experience * Experience with Perl, Python, R or other languages as well as job execution using LINUX clusters * Experience with NexGen data and omics’ analyses * Should have demonstrated problem-solving ability, strong communication skills (verbal and written) and is expected to interact daily with a team of basic and physician scientists to help visualize and interpret analysis results * Baylor College of Medicine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action/Equal Access Employer. 5267 CA; CH Show moreShow less
