Requisition Details Location Omaha, NE Requisition Number: Staff_10064 Department Emergency Medicine Business Unit College of Medicine Reg-Temp Full-Time Regular Work Schedule Mon – Fri 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, varies Position Summary Working under direct supervision, the Biomedical Informatics Programmer/Analyst will serve as an integral member of the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s PCORnet/CRANE (de-identified Electronic Health Record data) team in 1)understanding current and future patient-level common data models; 2) updating infrastructure to support changes in data models, including new data elements and participation in additional research networks; 3) creating, updating, and working with existing ETL scripts to integrate biomedical and other patient-level data into the UNMC integrated clinical research data warehouse; 4) understanding and utilizing data structures, schemas, and data dictionaries to support infrastructure building and documentation standards; and 5) maintaining database integrity and performing robust quality checks in support of research protocols. Required Computer Applications: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook Required Other Computer Applications: Strong relational database knowledge, (i.e. SQL databases such as Oracle, postgres and/or MySQL) Required Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: SQL database management (such as Oracle, MySQL, Postgres). Able to work in Unix-based systems and Windows-based systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player. Preferred Experience: 2 years or more experience in biomedical informatics and/or programming to include the development of databases and/or web applications, information modeling, and identification appropriate database resources for implementation.
