Job Summary Provides technical and analytical support, to power station or company personnel, for water, fuel, chemical and environmental samples. * Provides analysis, reviews, sampling, and/or trending of data on environmental and operational conditions based on reviews and interpretation of chemistry data and instrumentation results. * Evaluates new methods, techniques, and instrumentation in the laboratory. * Performs maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting for advanced analytical instrumentation and lab equipment. * Orders supplies and equipment for laboratory. * Maintains chemistry databases and information. * Provides training and technical information to lower level staff. Conducts special projects, studies, or audits to support lab supervision. * Provides evaluations to power station leadership and other company personnel regarding trends on corrosion and other chemistry data. Individual may prepare daily reports to management, including graphs of daily chemistry performance. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience 5 years of related experience, including the following: * Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all department members, site leadership, industry peers, and regulatory representatives, and build and maintain strong business relationships. * Proven experience to direct, coach, mentor, train, manage staff performance; assign and review workload, schedules, and expenditures. * Ability and experience to lead action plans and strategic objectives; identifiy key barriers and core problems, analyze and evaluate root cause and opportunities for improvement, to make sound business decisions, and successfully resolve issues to achieve desired results in a timely, accurate, safe, and cost effective manner.
