Job Opening ID: 14868 Reports To: Division Manager Working Title: Clinical Research Coordinator Department: OBGYN Administration Bargaining Unit: RX FLSA: Non-Exempt Payroll Job Code: Job Location: UCI Campus – Irvine Percent of Time: 60% Work Schedule: Variable Employee Class: Limited Position Summary: The incumbent will coordinate several mid-size health service research projects that are conducted at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. These projects include three studies : (a) Disseminating cervical cancer screening guidelines through the DOTS-O patient education tool (DOTS-O), (b) California’s Refugee Reproductive Health Network (ReproNet): Engaging Refugee Women in Research Partnerships and (c) Creating a Culture of Compassionate Care for Women Experiencing Pregnancy Loss (Compassionate care nurse training). The studies are funded by the Patient Centered Outcome Research Institute (PCORI) and a Hoag Memorial Fund. The coordination with national and local research and community partners aims to (a) disseminate and evaluate the impact of an on-line patient education tool; (b) establish campus- community partnerships with Afghan, Iraqi and East African refugee communities in Orange, San Diego and Sacramento counties and (c) coordinate and evaluate a skills-building, values clarification training for nurses who care for women experiencing fetal loss. The incumbent will report to Dr. Thiel de Bocanegra and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the projects. /She will coordinate subcontractor and vendor activities. With guidance of the PI and input from the stakeholders, s/he will develop outlines and materials for training and webinars, develop the evaluation surveys, manage data collection and storage, administer in incentive payments, and calculate descriptive statistics. S/he will prepare report drafts, IRB application, and assist in grant proposals. This position will be a 60% time position, with the possibility of increasing to 100% with additional funding. Compensation Range: Hourly: $29.11 – $37.39 Department Website: Required: Master in public health or bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience Skill to organize and prioritize workload, coordinate multiple assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines. Skill to use independent judgment to prioritize constantly changing job duties. Experience in conducting community-based research and interventions Experience working with marginalized and or limited English proficient populations Ability to work independently Ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability work well with a diverse group of individuals. Demonstrated excellence in reliability and attendance Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative, and fast-paced work environment Proficient with personal computers and a variety of applications including Microsoft Office Preferred: Experience in project management (budgeting, report, and meeting timelines) Working knowledge of University of California policies, procedures, and forms. Experience managing complex projects Prior work experience working with refugee or immigrant women Proficiency one or more priority languages (Spanish, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Vietnamese) Demonstrated ability to develop, organize and maintain appropriate hard and electronic filing systems for clinical, research, education and professional activities.
