Clinical Research Data Manager GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT: The MGH Frontotemporal Disorders Unit and Dickerson Neuroimaging Lab, affiliated with the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, is seeking a technologically-savvy individual with a bachelor’s or master’s degree and 5 or more years of experience for a full-time data manager position. This individual will be responsible for the organization and maintenance of the lab’s data management system; facilitating data capture, analysis and reporting for both internal research studies and large multi-center protocols, many of which tie together data from paper/pencil and computer/web-based testing, fluid biomarker collection, smartphone applications, physiological readings, and MRI and PET neuroimaging. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing case report forms, performing data quality checks, interacting with key members of the clinical and research teams, as well as generating reports and providing clean datasets to the research team and other end users. Furthermore, the incumbent will demonstrate maturity and possess excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills. They must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, juggle and prioritize multiple tasks, feel comfortable working with clinical data, and seek assistance when appropriate. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: – Creation and maintenance of REDCap databases including efficient electronic data capture, the organization and management of all data, the creation and updating of queries and reports, and interfacing between RedCap and other data management systems using API and related methods – Performs advanced and routine data quality assurance – Assists lab members in assembling and cleaning databases – Developing programs to check the integrity of the data, including range, error, and logic checks – Preparing reports on the quantity of data and quality in the data management system – Retrieving data and generating reports from the database as requested by staff – Assisting in preparation of reports (enrollment, adverse events) for submission to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) as needed – Attending/conducting meetings, teleconferences, and webinars relevant to current or upcoming research and clinical projects – Considering both back-end organization of data and front-end accessibility for end users and applications – Generating reports to end users – Pulling data and providing clean datasets to end users SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: – Ability to be responsible, detail-oriented, and creative with excellent organizational skills – Advanced computer skills, and strong oral and written communication skills – Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment and prioritize multiple tasks – Capable of working both independently and collaboratively – Excellent attention to detail – Ability to identify and troubleshoot/resolve problems EDUCATION: Minimum Required: High school diploma, GED or equivalent Certificate : Please specify Some college or Associate’s Degree X Bachelor’s Degree Master’s Degree Doctoral Degree None required Preferred: High school diploma, GED or equivalent Certificate : Please specify Some college or Associate’s Degree Bachelor’s Degree X Master’s Degree Doctoral Degree Field of Study/Additional Specialized Training: A quantitative discipline such as computer science, engineering, math, physics, or neuroscience EXPERIENCE: Required: – RedCap data management system (including RedCap API) – Minimum of 2-3 years of directly related experience in a scientific research environmentPreferred: Familiarity with one or more of the following: – One or more scripting languages (Python, Matlab, csh, etc.) – Statistics processing software (SPSS, R, etc.) – Healthcare experience, particularly in an academic medical setting, a plus – Familiarity with EPIC, RStudio, GitHub, a plus WORKING CONDITIONS: Office environment with necessary computer and other equipment co-localized with other clinical research team members.
