Role Summary The Commercial Strategy Analyst is responsible for developing insights and solutions for revenue product strategy at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. As an individual contributor, this role makes recommendations to inform leveraged decisions across our full set of revenue products. Key Duties – Takes initiative to develop insights and solutions to revenue product strategy. – With limited direction from supervisor, works independently to perform projects relating to design, modeling, consumer insights, and optimization to provide insights for long-term product strategy. – Provides input on changes to long-term product strategy to a wide variety of commercial stakeholders. – Makes regular recommendations on how to improve team best practices for strategy research – Applies cutting-edge research methods identify strategic opportunities and recommend methods to realize them. – Determines an effective approach for researching or communicating findings, adhering to the highest standards of precision, accuracy, and integrity. – Makes recommendations to improve revenue team processes and best practices for strategy research. Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required – 2 years of experience in business analytics, consumer insights, economics, mathematics or related area. – Bachelor’s degree with a focus in economics, mathematics, statistics, engineering or related discipline, or an additional 2 years of relevant training/experience in a related role in lieu of this degree. – Ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with other teams, valuing diversity and inclusivity – Detail oriented and highly organized, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment – Intermediate working knowledge of statistics, machine learning, optimization, consumer insights, and/or demand modeling – Strong understanding of revenue products, as well as product merchandising and optimization strategies. – Data-driven mindset and a proven history of continuous self-development – Proven track record of applying insights to business strategy – Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to drive outcomes in the best interest of the company – Intermediate skills in presenting data-driven strategic insights, including use of visualization tools (Tableau) – Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and relational databases and large datasets (SQL, R, python, Alteryx). – High school diploma or equivalent. – Minimum age of 18. – Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred – Graduate degree with a focus in economics, mathematics, statistics, engineering or related discipline. – 1 year of experience in the airline industry Job-Specific Leadership Expectations Embody our values to own safety, do the right thing, be kind-hearted, deliver performance, and be remarkable.
