General Motors UX Strategy humanizes mobility by ensuring our in-vehicle experience fulfills customer needs and stays competitive. Were looking for a Data Scientist In-Vehicle User Experience to uncover and aggregate insights for our User Experience Strategy team. We set direction for in-vehicle experiences that go beyond meeting basic expectations to create differentiated, emotional connections between the customer and the vehicle. The Data Scientist will play a supportive role on our user experience team through insight gathering and analysis. Were looking for a hands-on go getter who is willing to roll up their sleeves and work with the team. Together, you and our UX Strategy Leads, will work inter- and cross-departmentally to ensure were uncovering appropriate data points to create a robust customer lens. Responsibilities – Leverage talent in data science and analysis, experience strategy, customer insights, market insights, product and/or service design, and technology – Collaborate closely with team members whose goal is to craft a world-class customer experience across products and platforms, championing human-centered design – Participate in workshops and collaborative strategic activities with stakeholders and users – Create deliverables and presentations to communicate your work – Contribute to the continued evolution of the teams workflows and processes to further improve quality and performance Key Characteristics Empathy :You are curious about how other people work, live, and think.You put the customer first. Superb communication skills :You can communicate broad concepts as well as fine detail through written and graphical media. A quick study :You can quickly form relationships necessary to know where to go for what type of data, and can evaluate without bias. Comfort with ambiguity : You are comfortable working in a space where problems and solutions are not well defined. You can cope with change, shift gears easily, and can decide and act without having the total picture. Requirements – 2 years of experience analyzing customer insights for digital interfaces, large scale websites, or complex software applications within a range of channels (web, mobile, in-vehicle, etc.) – Bachelors degree in Data Science, Analytics, User Research, Experience Strategy, HCI, or related studies – Demonstrated experience in developing dynamic presentations in support of customer data/findings – Strong portfolio with work samples showcasing expertise in insight analysis – Open to feedback, knows how give and receive criticism, and how and when to defend decisions – Experience in working across organizational boundaries to define, manage, and prioritize work – Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills Additional Job DescriptionPreferred Qualifications – Knowledge of design thinking methods and track record of successful application PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU DO NOT NEED SPONSORSHIP TO WORK IN THE UNITED STATES NOW OR IN THE FUTURE.
