MITRE is seeking a strong technical candidate with a computer science or software engineering background to join a research and development team focused on investigating new technologies and building prototypes. The candidate will enjoy a fast-paced team environment, working on cutting edge technology, and be a self-starter. The candidate for this position would have familiarity in at least one of these disciplines: traditional forensics, mobile forensics, reverse engineering, IoT devices, network packet capture and analysis, Cloud forensics. Responsibilities include: – Reverse engineer mobile and embedded devices – Develop forensic tools – support vulnerability research for exploitation purposes – Support to sponsor-facing teams – Develop prototypes based on research Basic Qualifications: – Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field – At least2 years of successful experience Other Qualifications: – Familiarity with ARM platforms such as Android and/or iOS – Familiarity with network forensics, pcap analysis – Familiarity with Linux, comfortable on the command line – Knowledge of various device internals – Software development experience in Python, Java, C, and C+ – – Proficient in prototyping using Python – Basic knowledge of software vulnerabilities and exploitation – Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word – Must have demonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, PC, presentation, and communications skills Preferred Qualifications: – Advanced degree in related technical field of study – Familiarity with digital forensics concepts and objectives. – Familiarity with mobile app programming languages and scripting tools. – Familiarity with Reverse Engineering concepts – Ability to work independently and independently learn new technologies, languages, platforms, etc. MITRE is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
