Company Overview POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Pre-Funding Quality Assurance and Fraud Risk will have leadership responsibilities for the pre-funding quality and fraud programs for the single family lending business across all Bayview’s entities. This includes but is not limited to: Creating, building and leading a highly functioning quality assurance team to implement and maintain a comprehensive quality assurance and fraud framework that remediates operational gaps and mitigates residential mortgage lending risk. This individual will also be responsible to ensure direct reports are adhering to policies and procedures, both internally and outside mandated, ensuring tasks are completed timely and deadlines are met, as well as communicating with management to promote an environment conducive to running efficient, quality driven, and agency compliant pre-fund and fraud risk management processes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: – Oversee and manage day to day operations of Pre Fund Quality Assurance and Fraud Risk teams to: – Ensure all deadlines are being met – Mentor & train new and existing staff regularly – Monitor pipelines to ensure monthly audit goals are met – Assist in special audit requests including but not limited to Fraud, EPD, FPD, and repurchase reviews – Subject matter expert/risk owner for fraud tools used in the various channels to evaluate risk. – Develop and maintain comprehensive proactive fraud prevention and detection strategy by leveraging data analytics – Continuously monitor for emerging fraud trends using real-time data, including analysis of outliers in key fraud risk metrics – Identify patterns and anomalies within large datasets and make appropriate recommendations to mitigate risk – Develop risk-based sample selections targeting high risk files for review – Evaluate the efficacy of fraud detection and prevention tools and services through cost & fraud loss analysis – Staying abreast of industry changes and continuing on-going training in the QA/Mortgage/Mortgage Fraud fields – Observing business processes to ensure proper review – Manage and maintain continuous feedback process with stakeholders – Making recommendations for remediation on all deficiencies that are identified – Tracking outstanding remediation activity on an ongoing basis through internal reports and logs – Review each staff member’s production and quality on a regular basis to ensure quality and timely work is being completed – Complete mid-year and annual reviews of all direct subordinates – Other duties as assigned SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES: – Strong knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, VA, USDA and FHA underwriting guidelines. – Strong mortgage compliance knowledge: TRID, Flood, etc. – Experience using ACES Quality Management & Control Software – Excellent analytical skills to understand the drivers of defects and fraud – Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills – Must be detail driven, highly responsive and very analytical – Must demonstrate a strong initiative and drive and the ability to influence others – Excellent leadership, customer relations and interpersonal skills are required; ability to mentor, coach and effectively transfer expertise to others – Strong planning and organization skills are required – Strategic Thinking: Ability to juggle multiple goals and deadlines in the context of the big picture – Facilitation, Negotiation & Problem Resolution Skills: Ability to build a strong network and relationships at all levels of the organization – Strong problem solving and decision making skills – Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to foster internal and external business relationships EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: – Bachelor’s degree in Management, Computer Science or equivalent degree or the equivalent of relevant experience required – 3+ years of people management experience preferred – Minimum 8 years of full-time experience in Loan Operations/Underwriting/QA/QC and/or mortgage industry related roles. – Minimum 5 years’ experience in fraud prevention – Candidate will be required to undergo 20 hours of Government Programs/Regulatory related training each year. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATION – HUD DE/VA LAPP approval preferred.
