SunIRef:it This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required. EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree in a related field is preferred. Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Continuous learning, as defined by the Company’s learning philosophy, is required. Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged. EXPERIENCE: Ten years of progressively more responsible experience in a Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering environment with demonstrated technical experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. Five years management or supervisory experience in Quality Assurance is required. Previous workers’ compensation experience and Health Care experience in implementations and software delivery is preferred. Bilingual skills preferred. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED: Broad understanding of all business domains and brands. Ability to translate business goals into IT demand. Working knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, UNIX, Windows, and Digital Equipment. Strong knowledge of consolidation of large data center environments. Skilled in EMC Storage systems. Ability to effectively manage ones time and resources with increasing efficiency and do so with a progressively greater level of demonstrated technical proficiency. Ability to understand the domain, product, and Test Tools and apply this knowledge in the execution of daily tasks. Excellent business and financial awareness of the impact of Service Levels and any associated failures. Knowledge of Windows Server operating systems and products, Windows desktop operating system and office tools, detailed understanding of backup procedures, basic understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, and TCP/IP Networking principles. Deep understanding of the IT landscape with respect to development, production support, and testing. Knowledge of industry leading practices for managing IT services to provide support to the business. Strong understanding of the implications of changes to new and existing services as a result of business strategies. Exceptional leadership skills. Strong communication skills, including excellent written and verbal skills. Strong negotiation skills to influence key stakeholders. Must demonstrate leadership ability and team building skills to effectively supervise professional and non-professional staff and interact with all levels of management. Ability to work with and empower others on a collaborative basis to ensure success of unit team. Ability to effectively exchange information, in verbal or written form, by sharing ideas, reporting facts and other information, responding to questions, and employing active listening techniques. Ability to effectively present budgetary and/or cost information, and respond to questions as appropriate. Ability to establish workflows, manage multiple projects, and meet necessary deadlines. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards. Minimal travel with some overnight stays is required.
