Salary $2,726.83 – $5,044.58 Monthly $32,722.00 – $60,535.00 Annually $32,722.00 – $60,535.00 Annually Location Kanawha County, WV Kanawha County, WV Job Type Full-Time Permanent Department BPH-OCME-Chief Medical Examiner 0506-2937 Job Number 8831OCME Closing date and time 3/28/2021 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time (US & Canada) Description Benefits Questions Nature of Work Division of Health/ Bureau for Public Health (BPH)/ Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME)/ Kanawha Co. – The incumbent will perform analysis on samples properly accessioned into the OCME Forensic Lab in accordance with the direction of the Forensic Pathologist assigned to the case associated with the samples or in accordance with the direction issued by the Chief Toxicologist of the OCME. The results of these analyses are provided to the Forensic Pathologist for interpretation and utilization in the determination of cause and manner of death for their respective cases. Minimum Qualifications Training: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university with a major in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, forensic sciences, natural sciences or related field. Training Substitution for Firearms Section Only: Four years of experience as a qualified forensic laboratory firearms examiner may be substituted for bachelor’s degree. Experience: One year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in the analysis of evidentiary material.
