Company Overview Responsibilities include phlebotomy, collecting, preparing and processing specimens biological specimens. Assists in performing laboratory activities and other assigned tasks. Aids in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies. May be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results. Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment. Varied AM short shift: 0430-0830, 0430-0930, 0500-0900 M-F. Weekends Full Shifts: Every-third weekend, either AMs or overnights. Holidays: Two per year. On-calls: Five to six on-call weekends per year, varying between AMs and overnights. This position will float between all three campuses as needed. Salary based on experience AM short shifts M-F, everyother weekend full shifts Qualifications High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required. Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. – Support QA lab activity as lab assistant – Maintain inventory of lab supplies – Perform lab cleaning and equipment maintenance – Maintaining and cleaning of lab equipment and testing booths and lab surfaces – Implementing the lab safety program – Assist with minor lab procedures – Inform physicians of lab results – Maintain laboratory supplies and perform general cleanup of laboratory equipment – Maintain the lab equipment and housekeeping – Maintain lab supplies for assigned area – Perform other duties assigned by the lab manager/supervisor/lab administrative director – Assigning duties for the lab assistants – Implement security procedures regarding the safety of lab users and lab personnel – Maintain a safe and clean lab – Prepare lab for the daily procedures – Maintaining quality control in the lab – Stored and used in the lab – Order laboratory reagents and supplies – Operate basic lab equipment and perform routine maintenance – Perform lab testing on all incoming materials Recommended Skills Blood Collection Customer Service Laboratory Techniques Phlebotomy Technician
