Our Research Laboratory in San Francisco is currently recruiting a Laboratory Operations Specialist to support the laboratories. The responsibility of the Laboratory Operations Specialist is to enable efficient execution of research activities at our research laboratory’s Discovery sites, thereby contributing to the company’s Discovery pipeline. This individual contributor, with minimal supervision, will take the lead in managing many aspects of research laboratory operations, including communication with stakeholders and support groups at the local Discovery site and with global support lines as required to align service delivery with existing research laboratory processes. Primary responsibilities include oversight of capital asset lifecycle management, chemical stockroom supply and lab consumables logistics, create Purchase Orders for research equipment/services, liaise with scientists to represent the needs of the laboratory and support colleagues with Environmental Health and Safety, Facilities, Business groups, and IT. The successful candidate should possess an understanding of operational support while continuously seeking process improvement and implementation. As an early discovery site, the candidate should be flexible with the experience of working in a multidisciplinary, dynamic environment and the ability to manage changing priorities. They will be highly organized, collaborative and motivated to resolve or escalate issues in a timely manner ensuring quality and compliance throughout the process. Therefore, excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Education Minimum Requirement Education: Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required. Required Experience And Skills – At least 3 years’ experience with knowledge of research science functions and models – Knowledge of laboratory, facilities, work environment needs for research and drug discovery organization – Able to define appropriate resources for troubleshooting and operational aspects of projects with minimal supervision – Willingness to take on new challenges and learning opportunities – Familiar with the maintenance and use of biological research laboratory equipment e.g. cell culture hoods, incubators, centrifuges, imaging and liquid handling instruments – Strong communication, project management, problem-solving, interpersonal and computer skills Preferred Experience And Skills – Process Improvement and Change Management experience – Organization and Time Management skills – Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – Problem-solving and Critical Thinking – Passionate Learner and willingness to grow We are a research-driven biopharmaceutical company.
