Summary: ATI is currently seeking a full time Analytical Lab Technician to join our team at our Richland, Washington location. Hours are normally Monday – Thursday 6:00 am – 6:00 pm. This is an entry level position with opportunity for growth and advancement. You will be responsible for performing a variety of basic laboratory functions and routine laboratory analysis by following established procedures. You will operate lab equipment such as the punch press, lathes, button melter and take samples of alloys and other materials. Attention to detail and staying organized to ensure accuracy is a vital part of this position. You will work closely with the Quality Team and Operations. Employees are required to work safely as providing a safe environment to work in is the company’s top priority. In order to become successful in this position, you must quickly become familiar with and operate analytical laboratory equipment. Additionally, you will learn to work independently, have a continuous improvement mindset, an eye for detail, and be able to prioritize your work and follow processes. Essential Functions: Operation of scales to ensure accurate material weights. Conduct sample processing including storage, archiving, disposal, shipping, testing of samples, and pulling samples from furnace. Conduct melt sample preparation including button melting, punch press, and lathe operation. Conduct testing of samples in the laboratory using various laboratory equipment and using the LabTrack computer system to enter data collected. Maintain daily check sheets and log books in the laboratory. Conduct PM maintenance: daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually. Laboratory cleaning duties as assigned. Safety observations and various safety trainings; daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually. Must be able to operate forklifts. Other training and duties as assigned. High school diploma or equivalent required. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working in an analytical laboratory. Prior experience working in the metals industry. Key Skills and Abilities Basic math and computer skills. Have strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams and employees at all levels. Able to lift up to 50lbs rarely, 25lbs seldom; up to 10lbs occasionally; and up to 5lbs frequently. Must be able to enter data and type written documentation.
