Candidates MUST meet the following basic qualifications in order to be considered for this role: * BA/BS required preferably in accounting or finance. * A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. * Advanced knowledge of budget management and procurement operations. * Experience managing a moderately complex budget. * Acute attention to detail. * Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team. * Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills. * Proven experience in administration and financial management. * Experience developing trusting long-term relationships with constituents and creating and maintaining a team culture; Ability to work collaboratively across all levels of an organization * Flexibility, adaptability, and resourcefulness to meet ever-changing needs * Strong problem-solving skills. * Hands-on, leadership by example. * Experience working in operations in an academic and/or laboratory setting. * Coursework, training, or previous work supporting activities related to developmental biology, molecular biology, genetics, regenerative biology, stem cell biology, or related topics is preferred. * Knowledge of Harvard financial systems, policies, and procedures a plus. PLEASE NOTE: This position is located on-site in Cambridge. This is a fully benefits-eligible position. The position is a 12-month term position, with the possibility of renewal. Job-Specific Responsibilities * Manage and take responsibility for lab orders, optimization of the supply inventory and resources across all projects, liaising with partner organizations and university units, management of equipment maintenance. * Lead in managing financial operations of HUCL and its service to partner institutions, including budget management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, contract management, and procurement. * Identify and make recommendations on key administrative and resource issues to the General Manager. * Manage laboratory s regulatory and compliance activities. * Develop or revise various protocols/reports in conjunction with the GM. * Serve as the primary source of information and guidance on financial matters for HUCL. * Responsible for planning and executing space changes. * Delegate responsibility and workstreams to help meet overarching goals/priorities of the lab, providing administrative and financial direction where needed. * Working with the GM, create the systems and infrastructure needed to support efficient administrative operations and ensure compliance with all applicable university and departmental policies and procedures. * Working closely with OPP Finance and Administration on all financial matters related to the lab s operation and to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Other relevant duties as assigned.
