Position Summary The Laboratory Technician I is responsible for executing assigned Laboratory support functions such as media preparation, cleaning and steam sterilization of Laboratory supplies and reusable equipment. May conduct some assigned testing. Duties * Supports laboratory functions through the preparation of media, reagents and associated tasks. 50% * Performs cleaning as directed including materials, equipment and Lab area. 25% * Manually and electronically records and maintains data relevant to the procedures executed. 10% * Assists in basic testing functions as directed such as preparation, set-up and clean-up. 10% * Assists in the operation of steam sterilizer. 5% * Other Duties as Assigned Duties – cont’d Education Degree * High School Diploma or GED Required Experience * Ability to work under control in pressure situations and adapt rapidly to change. * Ability to read and interpret rules, schedules, procedures and instructions. * Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals. * Ability to lift and exert force of up to 25 lbs. * Ability to work well with others.
