JOB DESCRIPTION:

Leidos has an opening for a Life Sciences Data Archive Project Lead. The Project Lead will oversee the project management activities for the Life Sciences Data Archive (LSDA) project at NASA’s Johnson Space Center (JSC) under the Human Health and Performance Contract (HHPC).

The Project Lead will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, monitoring and reporting of the LSDA at NASA and contractor management forums and technical meetings. The successful candidate will work with NASA and contractor personnel to prioritize projects and, subsequently, develop appropriate project plans, schedules and milestones.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, schedule, and monitor LSDA deliverables, goals and milestones. Implement metrics to monitor project performance. Document project schedules using standard project management principles and techniques

Plan and monitor LSDA finances and coordinate resources as required with other HHPC personnel. Provide regular financial inputs for required reporting to contract and NASA management

Work with the Archivist Lead to control the schedule, cost and scope of LSDA

*
Develop and monitor project priorities with the NASA customer, Archivist Lead, and team members

*
Communicate LSDA plans, processes, and schedules to all project stakeholders

*
Pro-actively communicate and integrate LSDA activities with other internal (e.g., Lifetime Surveillance of Astronaut Health (LSAH), HRP, Ames Research Center LSDA and GeneLab) and external (e.g., data requester) personnel

*
Facilitate interactions with industry experts in the areas of data management and data release issues

*
Develop familiarity with laws, regulations, and NASA policies pertaining to sharing and release of Personally Identifiable Information (PII)

*
Enforce compliance with all applicable privacy and data confidentiality regulations, including but not limited to NASA privacy regulations, the Privacy Act of 1974, HIPAA, etc.

*
Coordinate development of data release policies with all stakeholders

*
Ensure compliance with all applicable HHPC and NASA standards and work instructions

*
Apply expertise and experience to the improvement of in-place processes and the implementation of beneficial processes

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

*
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business administration or related field (other degrees considered with relevant experience) and 8 years’ relevant experience or a Master’s degree and 6 years’ relevant experience working in medical/healthcare, research, public health, epidemiology, or life sciences fields.

*
Demonstrated leadership ability, excellent oral/written communication & problem solving skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

At least 5 years of experience working with the Human Health and Performance Directorate at NASA Johnson Space Center
Experience with NASA systems
Previous working experience with NASA or a NASA contractor
Project Management certification

THIS POSITION REQUIRES SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND CHECK TO ACCESS GOVERNMENT FACILITIES AND/OR SYSTEMS. DUE TO CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS, U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED.
