The MV90 meter data is used for the billing of large customers and rural electric cooperatives, the payment for generation from power producers, and data collection for purposes of load research studies, short term load forecasts, and substation engineering. The Analyst will ensure that the translation group provides error free, timely data and services along with excellent communications with field personnel, internal users, and external customers. The Analyst will also provide support for South Dakota data collection, processing, reporting, and troubleshooting efforts. Description Of Essential Functions – All NorthWestern Energy employees are required to adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics – Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy’s values, mission, and strategic business objectives – Maintain and update documentation to ensure that procedures are kept up-to date for MV90xi processes – Maintain and implement any changes necessary in the Access Tracking database – Ensure the quality and usability of data contained in the Access Tracking and MV90xi databases – Annually, perform the archival of MV90xi data directory entries, inactive Master Files, and monitor the Recorder ID count to ensure that it continually remains within the license agreement range – Ensure that the recording meters are compatible with the MV90xi translation process and document the MV90xi setup for the new recording meters – Work with the Electric Metershop in the evaluation, testing, and implementation of new recording meter types – Work with the Electric Metershop to troubleshoot recording meter hardware and communication issues General Qualifications – Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record – A minimum of a 4-year degree in Math, Computer Science, Business and Information Technology or related discipline is required – Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access is required – Experience with MV90xi is required – An understanding of databases (Oracle, Access, and SQL Server) and querying is required – Experience in the electric utility industry is desirable – Must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills – Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple conflicting tasks or projects are required – Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision SELECTION PROCESS When considering applicants for this position, the selection process will take into consideration the needs of NorthWestern, including such factors as reorganization requirements, diversity opportunities, relocation requirements, employee development and job succession.
