Manager for Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Laboratory Washington-Seattle Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Manager Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Laboratory (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Electrophysiology Lab in Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA. The manager is responsible for the overall management and leadership in the delivery of comprehensive, high quality services provided in the cardiac cath and electrophysiology laboratories. The manager is responsible for all clinical and operational activities of the units in accordance with Swedish Medical Center’s mission, vision, and values. Responsibilities include ensuring that safe patient care is provided, program development, service improvement and promotion, overseeing the activities in development of department staff, and participates in budget development and monitoring. Responsible for assessing and documenting individual staff competencies, annual review of competencies and departmental education programs. In this position you will: * Accountable for ensuring the provision of patient care 24 hours a day. Accountable for assigned clinical operations, patient care activities, coordinating patient care delivery on a daily basis in collaboration with other members of the health care team. Ensures that patient care is delivered in accordance with professional, regulatory, and medical center standards. * Establishes and enforces standards of patient care and nursing practice pertaining to areas of responsibility. Is accountable for developing, implementing, and monitoring unit-based quality improvement programs. Responsible for developing and implementing unit-based goals for the delivery of quality patient care. * Assures compliance with department standards by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the delivery of patient care by reinforcing positive outcomes and demonstrating corrective action for identified problems. * Assumes the role of patient advocate to clarify and evaluate ethical and/or legal issues, and supports cultural practices. * Assumes accountability for staff retention by tracking staff turnover rate of all categories of personnel and actively taking steps to ensure the reduction of turnover among her/his staff. Required qualifications for this position include: * Bachelor’s Degree in Cardiovascular Technology area, Nursing, Electrophysiology, or acceptable allied health field including healthcare administration or public health * Current Registered Nurse License (RN) in the State of Washington OR Current Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist License in the State of Washington * Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN) * Three (3) years progressive leadership experience in acute care setting * Three (3) years recent experience in procedural cardiac cath and/or electrophysiology with demonstrated clinical knowledge and leadership qualities Preferred qualifications for this position include: * Master’s Degree In nursing or a related field. * Certification in Leadership, or Critical care (AACN), or RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist, Cardiovascular Credentialing Institute) with IBHRE CEPS (International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners, Certified Electrophysiology Specialist) * One (1) year Management experience in acute care setting About the Cherry Hill Campus What is now known as the James Tower at Swedish/Cherry Hill Campus was home to the first hospital in Seattle, established in 1877 by the Sisters of Providence, a Catholic charity.
