Description Our client is an asset management firm that offers innovative investment advisory and portfolio solutions. The firm manages approximately $45 billion in AUM and is seeking a Manager Research Analyst to join their team in NYC. The successful candidate must be able to work under pressure, work independently when required, display a client-first attitude, and prioritize multiple responsibilities and tasks. Key Functions and Areas of Responsibility: Markets and Manager Research – Join senior analysts to interview hedge fund and alternative asset managers to perform due diligence on credit, quantitative/systematic/options and alternative beta strategies – Write research reports and provide opinions on managers – Write client reports to cover market activity and portfolio performance – Build manager research database and classification system Quantitative Research and Risk Management – Use internal portfolio optimization software to rebalance portfolios – Collect returns and exposure data for performance attribution and risk analysis – Use eVestment to screen funds, maintain manager peer groups, and report on performance Industry Research – Inform colleagues and clients of developments in alternative asset classes – Analyze alternative publications for thought leadership initiatives, marketing trends, and industry white papers Requirements – Three to five years of experience as an analyst in an investment management or consulting firm – Strong interest in financial markets, familiarity with alternative investments including hedge funds and private investments – Quantitative skills and strong experience with Microsoft Excel required; coding capability also required – Effective writer and communicator, must be a self-starter, positive attitude, team player – Detail oriented, have strong problem-solving skills and embrace a mindset that is constantly geared towards refining workflow efficiency – Education: An undergraduate degree from a top-tier school in business, computer science, economics, finance, engineering, mathematics, science, or a related field is required – Excellent GPA – Progress towards CFA designation preferred Posted 11/13/2020 – Full Time position – Compensation will be Market Rate
