Medical Data Entry Specialist – Naples, FL Naples, FL – Operations Description The Medical Data Entry Specialist (AKA Release of Information Specialist) initiates the medical record release process by inputting data into the company’s software (VRA). The Specialist works quickly and carefully to ensure documentation is processed accurately and efficiently. Duties & Responsibilities: Process medical record release requests in a timely and efficient manner. Process requests utilizing Verisma software applications. Support the resolution of HIPAA-related release issues. Organize electronic records and documents to complete the Release of Information (ROI) process. Read and interpret medical records, forms and authorizations. Interact with customers and co-workers in a professional and friendly manner. Utilize reference material provided by Verisma to ensure compliance and confidentiality is always maintained. Attend training sessions, as required. Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure effective operation of the department and the Company. Requirements Minimum Qualifications: HS Diploma or equivalent, some college preferred At least 2 years of experience completing clerical or office work (medical preferred) Experience using general office equipment including desktop computer, scanner, Microsoft Office Suite to complete tasks Strong data entry skills with a focus on speed and accuracy The ability to work in multiple databases simultaneously Impeccable attention to detail Knowledge of HIPAA and state regulations related to the release of Protected Health Information (PHI), preferred *COVID-19 Update* As we navigate these challenging times, our mission to Truth and Accuracy holds firm.
